About Me
I’m Steve, and I’m a Seattle-based composer who enjoys the process of making music with a theme in mind. Video games are designed with an array of atmospheres, moments, and characters that all have a story to be heard. This is the power of music that I am drawn too; it is a limitless toolkit to concisely express or evoke feeling.
I have an affinity for orchestral scores and consider my style attuned to inspirations from the likes of: John Williams, Howard Shore and Nobuo Uematsu, with an emphasis on the latter. However, this doesn’t prevent me from exploring outside my comfort zone, as I have been known to mix and mash genres. The foundation for my passion lies in retro games. Titles like Super Metroid, Final Fantasy, and Super Mario RPG have some of the best music ever composed for a game, and I draw direct inspiration from these works as well.
